Can I run GoldMine on a Mac?

“Can I run GoldMine on a Mac?” This is a question that comes up often when people are thinking about buying a new computer or upgrading their GoldMine.  The answer might surprise you. The initial response is NO, GoldMine will not run on a Mac, however, Windows can run on a Mac, and GoldMine can run on Windows. So yes you can run GoldMine on a Mac but it does require installing/using Windows.

There are basically 2 options for installing/running Windows on a Mac. You could use BootCamp or you could use virtualization software.  Boot Camp offers the best performance;  as your Mac is wholly given over to running Windows. But you have to reboot your system to use Windows, so you can’t use it at the same time as OS X; it’s Mac or Windows, but not both.  If you want to run Windows (or another operating system) as if it were just another application running on OS X you could install one of three third-party virtualization programs: Parallels, VMware Fusion, or VirtualBox.

There are lots of articles and great resources available online that delve deeper into these options, but there you have it, yes you can run GoldMine on a Mac running Windows.
